Awkward advisors
As a grad student, I am (of course) a big fan of Piled Higher and Deeper. I think reading it religiously may be in the student handbook. If it isn't, it should be.Weird that GSpice recently had a post on a similar topic--how hard it can be to be seen as having a close relationship with faculty.
So what other places are awkward for running into your advisor?
*Given that my advisors are both men, and I'm quite clearly not, these are disturbing in several ways*

I nominate TUWSNBN's swimming pool. Imagine running into any faculty there
Hadn't thought about that. What about the Malt Shop (just had conversation last week with a faculty member who wanted to know if they (profs) were welcome at the weekly happy hour.)
Or Dav--I don't care about community building, I don't want to discuss my diss before I get my morning coffee.
