Sign(s) of the day
As E springs a surprise by telling me she might not be going to AnotherBigNameConference after all, here's today's sign for you:On a large "Stop" sign, near a busy intersection on my walk to the metro (again), someone had written "War" just below the "stop".
Someone else had then stuck a "Stop being a fucking hippie" sticker.
I rather like this 'hood.

Heh. Your new (temporary) neighborhood is cool.
And I'll be there, but I'll probably bitch about it. At the moment, it's looking like I might be able to take off that Saturday morning, drive 15 hours, and meet up with my parents on Sunday morning.
S is pretty sure he's stuck in DC, though.
So it'd be a week of tramping about in the woods on my own, me, my camera, and my shiny new boots. And a flannel shirt, jeans, and bug dope, because it'll be September and the giant bugs from hell will still be flying around trying to carry off the unwary American hiker.
But I'd probably have to be back to the cabin for supper each night, because my parents and grandparents are going to be there the whole time. And I'm not stupid, so I won't be doing any camping if it's just me. Which means staying pretty close to Huron, rather than heading north as per the original plan.
When is this all going down? where is the conference this time around...? anywhere fun?
The weekend of 1 Sept onwards. Philly.
I will prob only go up for the day since my sister's getting back from New Zealand right that day.

Or, you know, totally dull and not at all fun. This conference is a bit of a crapshoot, really. Will the game theorists be fun and silly, or will they be bitter and surly?
