yup, they have lost all connection with reality while playing in academia. that or they just never had any commen sense to begin with.
I'm not sure about the connection between common sense and conservatism. I haven't seen a correlation between the two, or evidence that becoming an academic causes you to lose common sense.
In addition, the relationship between education and "liberal" might be a case of the two having a common cause--rather than a sign that professors are indoctrinating their students.
