Is it a hurdle or a hoop?
In between obsessing about the Doctor and reading Doctor-related cartoons, this half of PTSD has managed to progress (in a suitably linear fashion) to the next step of my PhD-ing. Of course, as is usual around here, it wasn't a smooth process (for a while, the "progress" part seemed questionable).All's well that ends well, as they say. Though, as I'm drugged up with Tylenol and some form of antihistamine, I wouldn't know as the whole world seems quite woozy to me (and, no, it's not from a job well done. This was a job "barely scraped by"). But, hey, who cares how it happened, right (yes, well, damn processes for now!). The outome is offical--barring another hoop, I am "All But Dissertation."
Now, we have to work on getting E here...

I take it you defense went well then? hat's good...congrats. Took you long enough :) Is E motivated now?
It didn't go well but ended well, if that makes sense :-)
You should use that "it's taken you long enough" line on E too--maybe that's a motivation?
nah i no think that's very motivating really...so that mean you can get on with the actual writing of the dissertation?
Bleah to all academic efforts, I say.
